Category: Major Accident
Train Crash in Ufton Nervet a hamlet in Berkshire just south of the main trunk [M4 motorway] between London and the West Country hit a car on a level crossing [road crossing] was said to have raised the express's motor unit into the air [500 tons+] tossing it off the track (the car would have had to be jammed into the track with it's drive shaft squewed to be in line with the track) how this happened is beyond belief as most sorts of impact of this nature would have flattened the car beyond - beyond?
update Because the locomotive was a Class 43 High Speed Express and the front bodywork curves under neath you could say this aided derailment but the BBC says it derailed at a set of points down the line
