Sony pay German costs for inventing a portable music player circa 1977., from By Damien Fletcher at London's Mirror newspaper..
..and If Mr Pavel sues Apple over the iPod, it is unclear whether his patent is still valid: normally patents are valid for 20 years from the date of application. Apple did not introduce the iPod, which stores music on a tiny hard disk, until October 2001. The first version of Mr Pavel's patent was published in Italy in 1978. from Charles Arther of London's Independent News..
..it seems that patent infrigement occurs when this catagory in electronics has to be rather pacific in the detail which crosses this road because of in particular the volume control..
..also Pavel also has more assets up his sleeve. In 1989, he filed a patent application in the United States for a technology combining the functions of a pocket audio player and a mobile phone. According to Der Spiegel, a decision on that application will be reached soon..By Estelle Dumout at C|NET.. and then there's the double click patent posted by Dave Winer recently..
